Though members of the Yakima community have a few months to go for the signature, can’t-miss Fresh Hop Ale Festival during the first weekend of October doesn’t mean they have to go thirsty. Craft beer aficionados and connoisseurs can still wet their palate and enjoy a cold one in the months leading up to the big festival by raising a glass at any of Yakima’s many other hops and brews events!

Taco Tuesdays just got better for those who visit Valley Brewing Company this summer from now until June 28. On these nights, starting at 7 p.m., Valley Brewing pairs their beer and tacos with rounds of trivia for patrons. Stop in and join them to make a drinking game out of the fun by taking a sip every time you answer incorrectly!

If you’re looking for some custom trivia with questions that you’ve never been asked before while enjoying a tall glass, consider joining Single Hill Brewing for Maximum Trivia! Maxentius will be your host for the evening if you choose to attend, where he will be asking pub-style trivia questions to teams of players consisting of six or fewer participants. Tables fill up quickly, so get there early to secure your spot in the competition. The event will be held this summer every other Wednesday with games already planned for June 15 and 29 and July 13 and 27. Each of these games will start at 6:30 p.m., except on June 29, which will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to join the Downtown Association of Yakima for drinks and fun during Yakima’s Downtown Summer Nights. They will be hosting the events at Historic North Front Street on Thursday nights throughout the summer from June 9 until August 11. These summer nights last from 5:30 until 9 p.m. and are sure to be a fun-filled night for all who attend, featuring delicious food, excellent local and national bands, and of course, signature craft beverages from Yakima!

Selah Sip and Stroll

On June 18 this summer, craft beer enthusiasts can join the Selah Downtown Association for their Selah Sip and Stroll Event. Patrons will begin the day by checking in after 10:30 a.m. at their downtown office on First Street, where they will get geared up to enjoy a few hours of day drinking. There, patrons will receive their commemorative ticket, sample cup, and bracelet that will allow them access to 12 different locations participating. After they’ve received all their event items, they can then stroll into Selah’s participating businesses and enjoy local cuisine that has been paired with a variety of Yakima Valley’s alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. While sipping their libations, event-goers can expect to be entertained by the Hot Rods on 1st Event that will be running through the heart of Selah at that time. Tickets are already on sale online for $30 each in advance, or tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event for $35.

For those looking to wet their palate with a never-before tasted beer, consider joining Cowiche Creek Brewing Company for their Second Annual Luau Party on July 8 and 9. Friday night will kick off the festivities with the release of their new special sour beer that will be paired with their specialty Hawaiian-themed food menu curated by Guest Chef Eric “Kid” Phillips. This celebration from 3 until 9 p.m. will lead into Saturday’s main event that will have the same hours. On Saturday, they will continue the party with their Hawaiian food menu with some extra additions to the fun. On this day, KROME will be in the house, serenading patrons with their sweet, summery tunes, and for the first time, Huck & Bean Ice Cream will be joining in on the fun, bringing party-goers delicious desserts to go with their raised glasses.

A perfect summer evening for wine lovers can be found at the Depot Square in historic downtown Prosser this upcoming July 16. On this Saturday, the city will be having its 18th Annual Prosser Art Walk and Wine Gala from 5 until 9 p.m. During the event, wine enthusiasts can sip award-winning wine and microbrews while enjoying a stroll on the Art Walk promenade featuring the creative works of Pacific Northwest artisans exhibiting a variety of mediums from fine art, glass, pottery, jewelry, fiber, and wood to recycled whimsy.

Prosser Beer and Whiskey Festival

Ringing in at the end of beer and brews this summer is the Prosser Beer and Whiskey Festival on August 27. With live music and a wide selection of local beers and spirits, this festival will give Yakima community members a last chance to wind down before harvest season kicks in. Besides the brews, the festival will also feature live music, good food, specialty vendors, cigars, and more from 1 until 9 p.m. This exciting event is the region’s premier craft brewing and distillery event where regional brewers and distillers show up and show off their very best, so you won’t want to miss it!

Of course, these aren’t the only events where members of the Yakima community can quench their first for delicious craft beer. There will be plenty of other events and festivals throughout the season where patrons can enjoy local brews, delicious food, and summer nights. After all, this is hop country! And the celebration is never-ending.
