The last bell is about to ring for little ones in our Yakima community as another school year comes to an end. It’s a sound that signifies freedom to young hearts and three months of nothing but playtime as they run headfirst into summer vacation. It’ll be a mad dash to rush home and get settled in for the upcoming months but don’t worry, parents! Creative Yakima

Kids can enjoy summer camp with a twist at Creative Yakima where they can spend the season exploring their inner artist. Their summer “camps” are four-day sessions where kids aged 7 to 12 join the team Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. During these hours, they enjoy multiple creative projects with lots of time devoted to creative self-expression and making new friends. Creative Yakima also offers mini-camps as well during the summer, which promise to be a perfect evening of one to two quality projects plus games and skill building for all to enjoy.

Fun for everyone can be found at Yakima Family Fun Center! Their go-kart track, bumper boats, batting cages, 18-hole mini-golf course, an indoor arcade, virtual reality booths, and pizza cafe are all ready and waiting to give you and your family a day full of exciting entertainment and thrills. They’re the perfect spot for birthday parties or just enjoying the day out of the house!

Six soccer fields, a skate park, and a playground are just a few of the features that await kids this summer at Chesterley Park in our Yakima community. There is also a picnic shelter for those wanting to spend their lunch at play and nature trails for those wishing to take a stroll and enjoy the local wildlife. The skate park provides skateboarders a chance to perfect their tricks for hours on end, while their playground will have active climbers busy for a while.

Proudly serving the Yakima Valley since 1978 in recreational fun is Gymnastics Plus. Gymnastics Plus is a place where community members can come together to enjoy gymnastics, swimming, and a soft play area, or Kid’s Castle as it’s called. Kids can practice their skills on the gym floor, and they also offer ongoing recreational gymnastics, pre-gym, and cheer classes providing a perfect option for a recurring summer activity.

Franklin Park

2101 Tieton Drive, Yakima

Kiddos can enjoy the water at Franklin Park this summer, where they have an outdoor swimming pool. It is home to the city’s only public outdoor swimming pool, and Franklin Park just happens to be one of the most frequently used parks in the area, with a rotary pavilion, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and playground with shade structures. In addition to the physical activities, Franklin is also home to the Outdoor Sunset Concert Series, which is a series of free concerts hosted on Fridays in July and August at the park.
