Explore Central Washington’s aviation history at the McAllister Museum of Aviation in Yakima. Take a look at the variety of interesting displays, including Bob Hill’s model aircraft. Learn about the different aircraft types utilized from World War I to Vietnam as you explore realistic models of this war-era machinery. “Most of the airplane models were painted in the markings and paint scheme of a particular pilot that Bob Hill referenced from his collection of KOKO FAN magazines which we have in our archives.”

Travel back in time as you learn about Aerocar, the flying car. Only five were produced before production was stopped. Discover Moulton Taylor of Longview, Washington, designer and builder of the magnificent Aerocar. Take a moment to also climb aboard a 19th-century mud wagon and learn firsthand what it may have been like to travel in one. Find an impressive lineup of exhibits and collections just waiting to be explored. You can even check out over 3,000 apple box labels showcasing some of the rare advertising of this popular state-wide fruit.

Admission to the Yakima Valley Museum costs $8 per person for adults, $6 for seniors, $5 for children ages 6 – 18, $6 for students, $18 for families and free admission for children five and under.
