It’s early morning, and you realize that you’ve just hit the snooze button for the third time. Now you’re way behind on your morning routine, and something’s got to go, so it might as well be breakfast, right? Wrong!

It’s not a lie when doctors tell you “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” Studies show that eating a hearty breakfast has many health benefits, such as improving energy levels, helping with better weight management, heightening concentration, and even helping in reducing the risk of Type 2 Diabetes and heart disease in the long term. And here to help the Yakima community in the conscious effort to make breakfast an important part of their day are these local restaurants specializing in breakfast and brunch in the area!

Owner Enrique Castro has had some major moves happen for Sweet Bees in the past couple of years. In 2019, they were excited to move from its old location on Summitview Avenue to its current spot on Fruitvale Boulevard.

The expansion came after they decided that they needed a bigger location to take care of customers, and that’s just what they’ve managed to do since the conversion. Of course, it’s still the same at heart, with the same hours, breakfast and lunch specialties, and fantastic service and friendly staff.

In 1998 the first Waffles Caffe opened on North First Street, and they’ve been serving the Yakima community ever since. In fact, they’re serving the area in not one but two locations these days, with another spot being opened just six years ago in the West Valley location.

They’re a breakfast-lovers dream with virtually every possible waffle imaginable, crepes, country breakfasts, omelets, and more. There are even soups of the day options with bean served on Monday, broccoli on Tuesday, tomato on Wednesday, potato on Thursday, and clam on Friday.

So instead of hitting the snooze button, why not set your alarm early next time so you can start your day off right with a yummy breakfast at one of these amazing Yakima area breakfast and brunch restaurants. After all, it’s the most important meal of the day. Shouldn’t it be treated as such?
