The groundhog may have gone back to bed after seeing its shadow, but that doesn’t mean all the cuddly critters of the world are going back to sleep. In fact, some of them are just getting started, like our good old pal, the Easter Bunny. That’s right, along with spring being just around the corner, so is Easter, and for the Yakima community, there are plenty of events and egg hunts going on to get us in the festive spirit for the holiday!
Easter Egg Hunt at Whistlin’ Jack’s Lodge and Outpost
20800 WA-410, Naches
If you’re hunting eggs this Easter, look no further than the Easter Egg Hunt at Whistlin’ Jack’s Lodge and Outpost. If you decide to spend the Easter holiday with them on April 16, starting at noon, they’ll be waiting for you along with over 3,000 eggs for the hunt. This is their second year hosting the event that they say is “some good old-fashioned fun for the whole family.” Some of the eggs even have special prizes in them, so keep an eye out, and you just might win something else besides candy!

This March 26 and 27, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, you can go to EarthWise Pet in Yakima and get your pet’s picture taken with the Easter Bunny. Wags to Riches will be there photographing your pets, but it is by appointment only, so remember to call ahead of time to schedule a picture time. There’s no fee for having the picture taken. EarthWise is just requesting a donation be made to Donna Prime Senior Pet Companion Program. All of the proceeds from the event will be going to this program. The program itself was created to help with the pets’ needs of furry friends owned by senior citizens to ensure that they can keep them in their home as the seniors age and may need a little extra bit of help to take care of their furry loved one.
Selah Lions Host Annual Easter Egg Hunt
216 S 3rd St., Selah
Selah Lions Club is also hosting their annual Easter Egg Hunt again this year on Saturday, April 16. Their hunt will last from 9 until 10 a.m. at Wixon Park in Selah. While they may not have as many eggs as Whistlin’ Jacks, their hunts will be divided into different age groups. There will be one for ages 1 to 4, a hunt for 5 to 10-year-olds, and another for 11 to 15-year-olds. This free event is perfect for those families with a wide range of ages for their kiddos who are worried about their bigger kids having an unfair advantage over the little ones.
Yakima Parks and Recreation’s Easter Egg Hunt

While Yakima Parks and Recreation is still unsure of the exact location, one thing they are sure of is that they will be hosting their annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 16. This is one Easter egg hunt you will have to register to attend in advance, with the registration deadline being April 15. Ticket prices that come with the registration start at $5 for toddlers up to age 3, and for children from ages 4 to 11, the ticket prices are $8. Like Selah Lions Club, they will also be dividing the hunts into age groups. For toddlers, up to 3, the egg hunt starts at noon. For kids ages 4 to 6, a candy dash will begin at 12:50 p.m. For kids ages 7 to 11, a candy dash will start at 1:40 p.m. Check-in begins 15 minutes before the scheduled event, so don’t be late!
It looks like the Easter Bunny will be very busy this upcoming Easter in the city of Yakima. With so many Easter egg hunt options to choose from, now it’s just a matter of deciding which one you and the kiddos want to go and enjoy!
