We are thrilled to announce that the community has spoken, and this year’s Grand Marshal for the 2024 Yakima Sunfair Parade is none other than Art Reis!
Art has made an incredible impact on our community, dedicating his time and energy to numerous non-profits and leading the Vintiques car club. Under his leadership, the Vintiques have supported a variety of causes, including donations to children’s charities, the YWCA, and a scholarship for Yakima Valley College’s automotive department. Art’s journey with the Vintiques has been transformative; he credits the club for helping him overcome his shyness and giving him the confidence to advocate for car enthusiasts and our community.
Here’s what others had to say about Art:
- Stef Apperson: “As the leader of the Vintiques, Art plays a crucial role in fundraising for the club and giving donations to many local charities. He has also attended numerous City Council meetings, helping to bring back family-friendly cruise nights to Yakima.”
- Lorrie Smith: “Under Art’s leadership, the Vintiques raise money and donates to many other organizations in our community.”
- John Uceny: “Art is a huge community supporter, fundraiser, and event coordinator who continuously gives back to the community in the form of charitable donations, scholarships, and by representing the Vintiques of Yakima at events all over the Northwest.”
This year’s parade will begin at 10 a.m. and follow the same route as previous years, starting at the corner of 16th and Yakima Ave and winding its way down Yakima Ave to Naches Ave.
We also want to extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsor, Yakima Federal Savings and Loan, for their generous support in making this event possible.
Please join us in celebrating Art Reis at this year’s parade, and thank him for his unwavering commitment to making Yakima a better place for all!
Let’s make this year’s Yakima Sunfair Parade one to remember. See you there!
