October is the perfect time to welcome all things pumpkin to your activities, home décor, and menu, and there’s no better way to begin than at a Yakima area pumpkin patch or corn maze. Whether you’re looking for a bountiful u-pick harvest, handmade ciders and desserts, or something a little more spooky, there are plenty of activities to fill your fall bucket list in the Yakima Valley.

Since its founding in 2000 as one of the first corn mazes in Central Washington, Curfman’s Corn Maze has continued to expand its seasonal festivities, and this year is no exception! Visit Curfman’s for a little bit of everything that the nostalgic pumpkin patch has to offer: u-pick fields, a corn maze, fire pits, a wood maze, and a hay ride, to name a few. To complete the day, grab a burger, kettle corn, drink, or the famous cinnamon sugar doughnut from the Curfman’s refreshments stand. Tickets will be available for purchase online starting September 27.

Seeing the quintessential red barn of Washington Fruit Place is the perfect start to an afternoon of autumnal activities at October Days 2025. Each weekend of October, starting Saturday, October 11, visit the Orchards for cider tasting, hayrides, a straw pyramid, a corn maze, and, of course, many opportunities for the classic pumpkin patch photo. As a bonus, visit the shop for prepared foods like salsas and jams, locally made soaps and candles, and home décor,  a great chance to get ahead of your Christmas shopping.

Open Thursdays through Sundays, September 27 – October 31

A short drive out of the Valley will find you at a unique one-stop shop for the Central Washington pumpkin patch experience. Jensen Farms, family-run by Ellensburg locals since 2012, brings fun for the whole family to each day in October. Tickets are not required for browsing the farm store, perusing the u-pick patch, treating yourself to a sweet homemade snack or drink at the coffee shack, or simply enjoying the farm grounds. For a small admission fee, you can also practice axe throwing, mine for gems and fossils, join a hayride, or ride the Talladega trike course.

Open Saturdays and Sundays, September 27 – October 31

Just off the highway, you’ll find Thompson’s Farm and Farm Market, which offers both school tour packages as well as weekend drop-in visits to their seasonal pumpkin patch. The apple harvest is still available, so bring a bag to fill while you enjoy the corn maze, pig race, hayride, gem mining, and children’s play area. Gather around the pumpkin patch entrance for the hourly firing of a pumpkin cannon. It’s truly a mark of fall in the Yakima Valley!

Open October 4 – November 1

Looking for the most fantastic range of pumpkin and squash varieties, all the classic elements of a pumpkin patch that the whole family knows and loves, and a few additional amenities to enjoy? Find tickets for the Union Gap Corn Maze either in person or online to gain access to a whole farm’s worth of fall fun. Explore a twelve-acre corn maze, operate apple cannons, and enjoy hot dogs and cider in the barn. For a seasonal scare, visit the corn maze on Wednesdays through Saturdays, 7 pm to close, where it comes to life with undead characters as a haunted maze.
