Our nation’s Independence Day is soon to be upon us, and for those living in Central Washington, finding celebrations is somewhat difficult to do. Fortunately, despite all the changes this year, there are 4th of July festivities happening in Yakima County.

For those living in the city limits of Granger and Mabton, if you wish to light off fireworks, you will need to apply for a permit at City Hall.

The city of Toppenish will be hopping during the 4th of July weekend. On Friday, July 2 and Saturday, July 3, the 86th Annual Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) will be held at the Toppenish Rodeo Grounds, located at 600 S Division Street in Toppenish.

On Saturday, July 3, the Toppenish Lions Club hosts their famous pancake, egg, and sausage breakfast at Post Office Park from 7:30 to 10 a.m., followed by the Annual Toppenish Parade, starting at 11 a.m. in Downtown Toppenish.

After a year of COVID-19 restrictions, the Yakima 4th of July Carnival is back! Central Washington State Fair Park will once again host the carnival starting on Saturday, July 2 from 2 to 10 p.m., Sunday, July 3 from 12 to 10 p.m. and Monday, July 4 from 12 to 10 p.m. Unfortunately, the carnival rides aren’t free, but tickets or wristbands can be purchased at State Fair Park on the day of your visit.
